يجول مغني ال"ار أن بي" الأميركي السينسغالي ايكون، في الدول العربية وقد قدم في حفل غنائي في بيروت آخر أعماله، ومنها الأغاني: "أي وانا لاف يو" I wanna love you من ألبومه "كونفكتد" (2006) و"رايت ناو (نا نا نا)" Right now (Na na na) من ألبومه الجديد "فريدوم" (الحرية بالانكليزية وقد أطلقه السنة الماضية، 2008) وكان حفله الغنائي ناجحًا جدًّا...
اشتهر ايكون بأغنيته "لونلي" Lonelyأي وحيد في اللغة الانغليزية وبالأغنية "بنانزا" Bananza أو "بلي دانسر" .Belly Dancer ولكن أغنية "لكد أب" من ألبومه "ترابل" (2004 Trouble) هي التي شهرته. ومن أجدد أغنياته التي أنتجها وغناها مع إيمينام Eminem الغنى عن التعريف "سماك دات" Smack That. أمّا أغنية "سُري بلايم ات أون مي" Sorry Blame it on me فقد كتبها ايكون للأهله ومحبيه من أجل أن يسامحوه على الأخطاء التي ارتكبها في حياته وعلى نسرح حفلاته الموسيقية (ستجدين كلمات هذه الأغنية في اللغة الانغليزية في آخر المقال وهي تعبر عن مواقف من حياة المغني وتكمن اعتزارًا لمن يحب ولمن أساء إليه من المحبين فهو كان سيُتّهم بعددة مواقف لسلوكه المؤذي على المسرح. ولكنه صحح ذلك بهذه الأغنية لأنه يعتبر نفسه مسالمًا وسيفي بوعده بألا يعيد الكرّة وأنه كالرئيس الأمريكي باراك أوباما، من الذين يفرضون نفسهم بهدوء).

ولد المغني المعروف باسم ايكون في 16 نيسان/أبريل 1973 في السنغال وعاش هناك لسبع سنوات قبل أن يذهب إلى الولايات المتحدة الأمريكية واسمه الحقيقي أليون ثيامAliaune Thiam ابن عازف الجاز مور ثيام.
وعلى فكرة، المغني الرائع ايكون مسلم ولديه ثلاث زوجات، مع أنّه نفى موضوع الزوجات الثلاث لأن تعدد الزوجات ممنوع في الولايات المتحدة.
كلمته المشهورة konvicted هي التي أوحت باسم للشركة الموسيقية التي يملكها: "كونفيكت ميوزك". أخرجت هذه الشركة فنانين مبدعين منهم تي باين، وتنتج هذه الشركة عدد كبير من الأغاني المميزة. أمّا كلمة "كونفيكت" فتعني المسجون وهي إشارة إلى ايكون الذي حُكم عليه بالسجن لأنّه كان يقوم بالسرقة المسلّحة. وكتب أغنيته "لكد أب" بعدما خرج من السجن وكانت مدة احتجازه ثلاث سنوات وهذه الأغنية أحرزت نجاحًا كبير في الولايات المتحدة والمملكة المتحد البريطانية. فهو نمّى قدراته الموسيقية وكتب عددًا كبيرًا من كلمات الأغاني وهو في السجن وتعتبر موسيقته مزج لعدّة أساليب غنائية، من الأسلوب الأفريقي إلى الأسلوب الأمريكي.
